Take as many credits as you can handle at one time. Most universities charge you per credit, but only up to twelve credits. After that the rests of the credits in that semester are free. Taking eighteen credits per semester will leave you paying one-third less than your peers for the same education.

Find a bank that offers free savings and checking accounts. Look around and go with an establishment that works often with students and doesn't charge you extra for a bunch of little things. You should be respectful of your roommate's wishes. You need to learn how to work with him or her so that it makes your time easier. Sit down when you first get to school and find out what you both expect out of a roommate so you can both be happy.

Do not let anyone, including yourself, pressure you into rushing your declaration or choice of major. At most colleges and universities, you are going to spend at least two years doing general education classes regardless. Use these to explore various avenues and fields of interest to winnow down to what really fascinates you.

Right before going to bed read through your class notes. By doing so, you will process the information during sleep! During sleep, the brain assists by building certain contextual links between the pieces of information, thus helping it make more sense the following morning.
